Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics Research Group

1. Introduction

Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics Research Group (AMOG) is a research group funded by Ton Duc Thang University. We involve in the research related to the new technology of visualization of microscopic world. Our objectives are: (1) effective non-perturbation methods for solving the Schrödinger equation of atoms/molecules in external electromagnetic fields; (2) new insight into the MICZ-Kepler problems; (3) new theory and methods to extract molecular dynamics by ultra-short laser pulses using high-order harmonic generation.

2. Mission and vision

• Contribute to atomic, molecular and optical physics with high-level research.

• Establish a leading group in theoretical physics.

3. Research topics

• Non-perturbation methods, algebraic methods for solving the Schrodinger equation of atom/molecule in electromagnetic fields;

• Quadratic and bilinear transformations (Kustannheimo-Stiefel, Levi-Civita, Hurwitz) and the connections between harmonic oscillators and the MICZ-Kepler problems;

• Magnetic monopole and its generalization for high-dimensional spaces;

• High-order harmonic generation and ab initio methods for its calculation; possibility of extracting dynamic molecular structures from high-order harmonic spectra; chemical imaging and tracking molecular dynamics by ultra-short laser pulses.
