Green Processing, Bioremediation and Alternative Energies Research Group

1. Introduction

Green Processing, Bioremediation and Alternative Energies Research Group (GPBAE) is funded by Ton Duc Thang University and belongs to Faculty of Environment and Labour Safety. This group mainly focuses on “Reduction in the volumes and amounts of solid/organic wastes” which is a crucial issue in many parts of the world which has sprung research and research funding in this field to new heights of scientific, engineering and (bio)technological advances.

2. Mission and vision

• (A) Development of an effective pretreatment technologies; thermochemical, biochemical and physicochemical methods and process optimization for the preparation and processing of biomass feedstock, (B) Production of various biofuel products such as biodiesel, (bio)ethanol, (bio)butanol, (bio)hydrogen and biogas from various organic resources, (C) Development of bioelectrochemical systems (BECs), relying on electrochemically active biofilm on the cathode for waste biorefinery, pollutants removal, and CO2 biocoversion to methane.

• Outreach activities such as academic-industry collaboration, exchange students, conducting world class seminars, workshops on cutting-edge technologies, organizing symposiums and conferences and high impact paper publications.
