Wireless Communications Research Group

1. Introduction

Wireless Communications Research Group (WiCOM) is a research group funded by Ton Duc Thang University and belongs to the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The objective of WiCOM is to propose research solutions to deploy 5G networks between 2020 and 2030. This can be done by improving spatial reuse through the dense deployment of small cells. Several other solutions should also be proposed for 5G to provide capacity improvements through the use of larger bandwidths, larger coverage and multi-antenna transmission.

2. Mission and vision

Wireless communications networks enable interaction between users of various types of equipment, either mobile or fixed and they are the foundation of the Internet. The mission of WiCOM is to conduct world-class research, train world-class graduates, create new technology. As a forerunner in its field, WiCOM will become a leading research group in Vietnam. In particular, WiCOM aims to develop and apply the novel system models in the field of wireless communication. Regarding other high-quality university-based research groups, WiCOM aims at producing peer-reviewed publications of the highest rank.
