1. Introduction
The Division of Computational Mechatronics (DCME) was founded in 2015 as a research unit of the Institute for Computational Science (INCOS). Mechatonics is the study of the design of "intelligent" systems and products in which mechanization and control requiring sensing, actuation, and computation are combined to achieve improved product quality and performance.

To be a leading research and educational Mechatronics center with emphasis on co-op training, industrial partnerships and entrepreneurial research activities.

• Magneto-rheological brake and its applications;
• New control algorithms for semi active and active suspension in railway applications;
• Haptic systems.
