Announcement of funding for grassroots scientific research topics, Phase 1, Year 2025

Ton Duc Thang University (hereinafter referred to as the University, the School, TDTU) would like to respectfully announce the Funding Program for grassroots scientific research topics, Phase 2, 2024 as follows:

1. Funding objectives

• Create conditions for implementing potential research to promote the University's scientific research activities;
• Improve the research capacity of individuals and collectives of staff to meet the goal of developing the University into a research university;
• Improve the quality and quantity of scientific publications, inventions or applied research transferred to training activities and/or commercialization;
• Promote cooperation in scientific research and applied research domestically and internationally.

2. Products and funding levels

Basic and applied research in all fields with the potential to publish results in quality scientific journals and/or have the prospect of being applied to training at the University and/or in practice:

• The funding level is based on the annual budget plan of the units approved by the University.
• For basic research with products published in journals in the WoS/Scopus database, the products and funding are calculated according to the current regulations of Ton Duc Thang University on the income of part-time researchers.
• For applied research, based on the registered products and actual costs, the appraisal council proposes funding for the topic. The registered application products can be:

• Documents, textbooks, learning/experimental tools... serving the research and teaching work of the University in particular and Vietnam in general;
• The results of applied research are transferred and/or published in journals with ISSN indexes scored by the State Council of Professors.

3. The sponsored person

The project leader must be a permanent employee of TDTU:

• Not under disciplinary action; no outstanding scientific research tasks that have not been accepted;
• Only submit 01 set of application documents for funding;
• For basic research topics: have research capacity that meets the requirements of the topic; have research results relevant to the expertise, published in prestigious international scientific journals and have high scientific citations (according to WoS/Scopus standards) within the period of 03 years up to the time of application submission;
• For applied research topics: have research capacity that meets the requirements of the topic, have experience in applied research demonstrated through research topics that have been and are participating in.

Members participating in the topic: have expertise, qualifications, and skills appropriate to the research content of the topic. Priority is given to TDTU students and trainees participating as members.

4. Application deadline: From 01/08/2024to 31/08/2024.

The school does not accept late applications.

5. Application documents

The application documents include the following forms:

• Application for funding;
• Research topic description;
• Project budget explanation;
• Scientific CV;
• Evidence of scientific achievements (if any).
