Group of Applied Research in Advanced Materials for Sustainable Development - FASAM

The Group of Applied Research in Advanced Materials for Sustainable Development (FASAM) was established on February 24, 2025 under Decision No. 558/QD-TDT with specialized fields of operation being advanced energy materials, biomedical materials, environmental treatment materials, and agricultural materials (biological products and fertilizers).

Mission and vision

Vision: To become a leading and reputable research group nationally and internationally in the field of advanced materials for sustainable development.

Mission:

  • To conduct research, development, and application of advanced materials in the fields of energy, environment, biomedicine, and agriculture.
  • To train high-quality human resources in materials science and technology, with capabilities for independent and creative research.
  • To establish research collaborations with domestic and international institutions.
  • To transfer technology in order to promote the commercialization of research products and the application of research outcomes in industry and daily life.
Research topics

The group is dedicated to developing advanced materials for applications in energy, environment, biomedicine, and agriculture. Specific areas include:

  • Development of high-performance novel materials for lithium batteries and other energy storage devices.
  • Synthesis of targeted nanomaterials capable of encapsulating and releasing active agents for controlled drug delivery applications.
  • Fabrication of artificial extracellular matrices using polymeric and inorganic nanomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
  • Production of advanced fertilizers, including organic and biofertilizers, to enhance crop growth, improve yield, and reduce environmental impact.
  • Synthesis of bio-based aerogels from renewable sources for wastewater treatment and environmental remediation.
  • Development of biological agents to degrade and eliminate pesticide residues in agricultural environments.
