In the morning of May 18, 2019, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized a training seminar on "Teaching and scientific research in university, and the publication of scientific articles in international journals" for newly recruited lecturers and researchers of the University, presented by Dr Ut V. Le, Director of Department for Management of Science and Technology Development, Ton Duc Thang University.
During 3.5 hours, the related contents were clarified including: what a university is, what the key factors for good teaching are; how to instruct high quality essays/dissertations, why lecturers need to do research in a standard; how to conduct scientific research at TDTU; what scientific assessment at TDTU is; What a scientific article is, why a scientific article must be published; what processes of publication are, why the paper is rejected, the structure of the scientific article; how to avoid "black" journals/publishers; how to begin doing research.
All discussion was in English (including presentation, questioning, answering, debating) because all TDTU lecturers and researchers must meet certain English standards to be considered for recruitment. In the self-introduction section, most of participants spoke English very well because they got masters and PhDs degrees in the developed countries (some have had from 13 to 16 ISI papers).
With the animated comments and discussion, it is a signal that the TDTU’s ISI papers will continue to increase in the near future.
