Development of scientific research and international publication in the university

Over the past few years, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) has strongly developed in terms of the quantity and quality of international publications. TDTU is the first university in Vietnam that applies the ISI/Scopus international standards in scientific research; the standards which are also applied by the world's most prestigious universities.

TDTU regularly greets delegations from many universities throughout the country to share experiences in the development of the university, especially in the development of scientific research. In the first half of 2018, TDTU was honorably invited to give keynote speeches of experiences in developing international scientific publications; notably:

• The conference on “Development of Research University and International Publication: Challenges and Solutions” organized by the Board of Rectors of the universities in medicine and pharmacy in Vietnam at Hanoi Medical University,
•  The conference on “Development of Scientific Research and International Publication in the University” held by Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Tien Phong Newspaper’s list of "TOP 10 ISI-standard scientific publications in Vietnam" (June 4, 2018), TDTU has published 1,546 ISI papers in the last 3.5 years (1/1/2015 to 31/5/2018). TDTU is ranked second in the country for the ISI publications of Vietnamese educational and research institutions (ranked after Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and ranked first among the universities in Vietnam).

Developing scientific research and international publication is one of the university’s major priorities, as scientific research is the decisive factor of the quality of a university.
